Comment and Reprint Policies

Comment Policy

Readers of The Climate Post are encouraged to leave comments in response to our posts. In doing so, please note that this is a moderated blog and all comments are reviewed. Ultimately, the blog administrator reserves the right to delete comments that contain:

  • Ad-hominem Attacks: Personal attacks on this blog, or other commenters on this blog, will not be tolerated and will always be removed.
  • Links: Relevant links are encouraged, but those that are not could be deleted.
  • Spam: Genuine sounding names and URLs must be used. Comments that contain suspicious information, self-advertising or spam-like URLs will be deleted.
  • Offensive Language: Any post that includes language considered by the blog administrator to be offensive or inappropriate will be edited or deleted.
  • Private Information: While personal e-mail addresses are required in order to comment, they are not published or shared on the blog. They may; however, be used by the blog administrator to privately contact a commenter. To protect your privacy, please don’t include your contact information in the main body of your comment.

Only those comments that comply with this policy will be considered for posting. We reserve the right to modify and amend it at any time. Every effort will be made to post comments in a timely manner that do not violate our comment policy. However, most will appear during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Reproduction of The Climate Post in print or online is not allowed without the written consent of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions. To request permission to reprint content, please contact us at nicholasinstitute@duke.edu.

Issues of The Climate Post must be republished in their original form if permission is granted. Credit must be given to the Post’s author, Tim Profeta, and read:”Originally published by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions.” The content must also include the description of the Post with its hyperlinks at the bottom of each issue: “The Climate Post offers a rundown of the week in climate and energy news. It is produced each Thursday by Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions.
